Welcome to the Hearings pages of the Qikiqtani Truth Commission web site.The QTC conducted public hearings in 13 communities in 2008 and 2009. A full list of the communities and hearing dates can be found at the bottom of this page.
On this page, you will be able to access in Inuktitut and English the testimonies of Inuit and Qallunaat who lived in the Baffin Region between 1950 and 1980. Testimonies available on this page were provided to the Commission during public hearings, except when exceptional circumstances warranted private sessions. This page will also include the interviews conducted by the Qikiqtani Inuit Association in 2004-06. The testimonies will be available in a range of formats including print, audio and video depending on the formats available. By making these testimonies available, the QTC hopes that visitors to the site will hear for themselves accounts of Inuit and Qallunaat experiences during the period studied. The QTC will be adding information to this section of the website throughout 2009 and 2010.
